TIE-Canaan Entrepreneurial Challenge 2008 + Deadline May 12, 2008

If you are a wannabe entrepreneur or already have a gig that is in stealth mode, or you already have and have been working on it then here is your chance to participate and win prize money and also get access to venture capitalists and angels in India. The TiE-Canaan Entrepreneurial Challenge is back. The first TiE-Canaan Entrepreneurial Challenge was held in 2006 and one of the winners was Girish Saraph (whom I interviewed in 2006) and his team at Vegayan. Girish and the other two winners got to spend 6 weeks at Insead Business School in Singapore.

So, here is how the TiE-Canann Entrepreneurial Challenge 2008 works. Please note: This challenge is open to entrepreneurs in India only. Please read the eligibility criteria to make sure you and your team quality.

You download the application form and turn it in before May 12, 2008. Eight teams will be selected based on their potential to scale, team strength, business model etc. These eight teams will then participate in a final round that will be held in June 2008. In the final round the selected teams get to present their business plan and ideas to a jury out of which the final winners will be selected.

What do the winners get? All winners will get three months of mentoring and an opportunity , one team member from each winning company will get to attend pro bono an executive education program at ISB, Hyderabad and one of the winners will get to participate in Microsoft Accelerator Program.
