In Conversation With Pico Iyer

Pico Iyer is one of my favorite authors. About a week ago Pico graciously agreed to do an interview after I sent him a note. I had first met Pico about 12 years ago when he released his second book: The Lady and the Monk. For the past week I have been feverishly preparing for the interview. I made numerous trips to the local library and spent hours on the Internet reading up everything I could find on Pico, his father, the Dalai Lama and a whole bunch of related information. What a pity that my entire stack of Pico’s books along with my notes are back in Bangalore.

I finally got to interview Pico earlier today. Pico recently published a book on the Dalai Lama. We spent an hour talking about his new book, how he got into writing, the writing process, travels, globalism and food. I will be posting the audio interview in a couple of days, so watch out for that. I hope you enjoy the conversation with Pico as much as I did. Pico has a sharp eye for details and has a wonderful ability to transport us to different parts of the world through his writings.
