Congrats to Rafat Ali and his team at ContentNext. They are being acquired by UK’s Guardian Group for over $30 million according to Kara Swisher of BoomTown.
Hats off to Rafat for starting this as a one-person site and growing it to a media group. Jemima Kiss of Guardian writes about Rafat’s rags to riches story and he is truly one of those tough entrepreneurs, who is laser focused on what he wanted to achieve.
Om Malik has a really nice post congratulating Rafat and his team. I am guessing that ContentNext’s acquisition is the talk of many Silicon Valley bloggers and not the launch of Apple’s new iPhone.
A couple of years ago I did this interview with Rafat in London. Rafat was there to attend a new media conference organized by Reuters.
