Adobe’s Shantanu Narayen Joins Dell’s Board of Directors

Shantanu Narayen, President and CEO of Adobe SystemsEarlier this week Shatanu  Narayen, President and CEO of Adobe Systems was named to the Board of Directors at Dell Inc, the second largest maker of personal computers. An experienced dealmaker Shantanu will be part of the board’s leadership development and compensation committee and will be paid $50,000 for serving on the board in 2010 FY. He will also receive restricted stock valued at $400,000. He will stand for elections in the next shareholders meeting.

Shantanu also sits on the board of Metavante Technologies that was recently acquired by Fidelity. He sits on the advisory of Haas School of Business at University of California, Berkeley. He received his MBA from Haas School of Business.

Shantanu replaces Sallie L. Krawcheck, who joined Dell’s board in 2006 and resigned earlier this week. She is President of Global Wealth and Investment Management for Bank of America (BOA). Krawcheck joined  BOA in August, and prior to that she was with Citi Group.
