How do big companies change? What prompts these changes? Do they come from customers, market forces or the leaders within a company? How does everyone align and buy into one vision? Ever wondered about these questions? These questions were the basis of a conversation between Geoffrey Moore and SAP’s Bill McDermott, co-CEO of SAP at The Churchill Club event last evening.
If you thought SAP was still a stodgy ERP company, think again. In the last 2 years SAP has transformed and become a customer-centric software company and wants to “out innovate” others as McDermott put it. How does SAP “keep its main thing the main thing?”
In 2012 McDermott and Jim Hagemann Snabe were appointed as co-CEO of SAP.
In this video clip McDermott explains SAP’s strategy.
But, how did SAP bring about change?
Eric Savitz of Forbes has a comprehensive post that captures the main points discussed in the conversation between Moore and McDermott.
