Jay Patel on IMImobile and VC Funding Part-II

Jay Patel is an executive director at IMImobile, a wireless value added services company in Hyderabad, India. He is also a director at NewMedia SPARK, a London-based VC firm. Recently IMImobile received $10 million in Series B funding from Pequot Ventures.
In Part-II of our podcast interview Jay talks about IMImobile’s business model and value proposition. In 2005 IMIMobile got its first round of funding (Series A) from NewMedia SPARK, an early stage investor in digital media and technology companies.
IMImobile provides a whole range of VAS including managed services, gateway connectivity, service delivery, content management, messaging platform and gateways, content aggregation and development.
IMImobile’s clients are located in Latin America, Middle East, Africa and South Asia.
IMImobile recently announced that it is setting up a 3G Lab in Mauritius. The wireless company also got the rights to distribute Bamboo, the official melody of the 2006 FIFA World Cup to cell phones in over 15 countries.
Kamla Bhatt is the host and producer of an Internet Radio show where listeners can find stories about the new and emerging India and the global Indian community. As a pioneer of 'internet radio' format in India Kamla started her first show News about India, followed by TalkNewsIndia in 2005. In 2006 she premiered her new show: The Kamla Bhatt Show: Life, People and Ideas.
