There has been a lot of talk in the past few weeks about Yahoo’s revival meeting, which was addressed by Steve Jobs. Many agree that Yahoo has a lot of great assets, and as Tim O’ Reilly observes: “Yahoo! is a great company, but I don’t think they embrace their greatness, or even know what it is.”
Has Yahoo embraced its greatness? What is its global strategy and its strategy in India? What is Yahoo’s strategy in the sizzling red-hot, flavor of the moment market “social media?” Yahoo! was in talks with Facebook, the posterchild of social media space, but those talks appear to have fizzled out.
India is the hub for Yahoo’s emerging market strategy and the focus is on the next half a billion Yahoo! consumers and emerging markets is where the growth is going to be says David Filo, co-founder and Chief Yahoo.
