David Filo is co-founder and Chief Yahoo! We bring you a three-part interview with David where he talks about the early days of Yahoo! (YHOO), what it takes to do a startup, and Yahoo’s India plans among other things. David is also interested in buying REVA, the Indian electric car, when it becomes available in the USA.
In Part-1 of our interview David talks about the early days of Yahoo and how it all started. What was it like for him and Jerry Yang to leave behind their graduate studies and plunge into a new business? How did they came up with the name Yahoo!? Did you know it was initially known by another name and before they changed it to Yahoo!? How did they meet Srinija Srinivasan, who went to become their resident ontological officer?
