“We need heroes and role models that are relevant to the new and emerging globalized world. There are hundreds of stories out there of inspiration, motivation and innovation waiting to be discovered and told. I am passionate about telling those stories and getting them heard,” says Kamla.
The eclectic nature of the show is designed to appeal to an inquisitive and thinking person, who wants to listen to and enjoy a good conversation. The show is broadly divided into Life, People and Ideas.
The focus of The Kamla Show is to present consistently good conversations that can enrich you. When listening to these conversations the goal is to help you find “the elation that comes of swift contact with the tingling currents of thoughts,” as Agnes Repplier, the American essayist put it. And that “swift contact” might spark off when you listen to a writer describe how they found inspiration for their novel, or an entrepreneur talk of their struggle to build their company, or hear a film maker discuss how they can up with the storyline for their film.
Guests on her show include pioneers, visionaries, entrepreneurs and creative artists like Prof. Freeman Dyson, Oscar winners Danny Boyle and AR Rahman, David Filo, Ninja Srinivasan, Tim O’Reilly, Reid Hoffman, Mitchell Baker, Pico Iyer, Shyam Benegal, Madhur Jaffrey, Yogen Dalal, Rajat Gupta, Shekhar Kapoor, Vinod Dham, Vikram Chandra, Anita Nair, Anupama Chopra and Kittu Kolluri.
Kamla started her media career during the dotcom boom in the mid-1990s in Silicon Valley. Through her work in Silicon Valley’s tech companies Kamla gained an insider’s perspective into the startup culture.
