The motley crew from HBO’s Silicon Valley is back. The popular series premieres on April 24, 2016. Mike Judge and his crew have brilliantly captured the essence of Silicon Valley’s startup culture with its warts and all. HBO’s Silicon Valley gives you a sense of what it takes to do a startup in Silicon Valley.
The TV series takes you behind the scenes and reveals how entrepreneurs struggle to make a mark and the various hoops they jump to raise money. So far we have witnessed the fictional startup Pied Piper’s efforts to differentiate itself and raise money. We have also seen the shenanigans of one of its investors and his obsession with the Tres Comma Club.
It looks like Season 3 is going to be a riveting watch as we witness the folks at Pied Piper go to the next level of growth. There is that all too familiar storyline of how founders get replaced by seasoned CEOs. It looks like Pied Piper’s founder is going to become “an employee of his own company.” And I guess we can expect to see and hear a lot of those Unicorns in Silicon Valleys and their burn rate.
In case you missed – here is my interview with Dr. Vinith Misra, who is a technical consultant for HBO’s Silicon Valley series. All those algorithms on the blackboard and the geek speak in the show is a contribution of Dr. Misra.
