VIDEO: FILMMAKER PETE NICKS ON THE MAKING OF “THE FORCE”

Meet Emmy Award-winning director Pete Nicks, whose documentary The Force won him a directing award at the 2017 Sundance film festival. The Force takes you behind the scenes of the beleaguered Oakland Police Department that has been under federal monitoring for 10 years. It took over 2 years for Nicks to make this documentary, which is part of a trilogy on Oakland.

I sat down with Nicks to find out how the idea for the film came and how he made it. This is part-1 of our interview with Nicks.
