Cinequest, an annual film festival in Silicon Valley is back this year from March 5 – March 17, 2019 in San Jose and Redwood City. Cinequest is not just about films, but it also features Virtual Reality (VR) experiences and conversations with actors and film makers like Nandita Das, Billy Nighy and others.
The opening day film on Tuesday, March 5 is Manto , a biopic by Indian filmmaker Nandita Das. The film is about Saadat Hasan Manto, a brilliant writer and poet who lived in India and after the partition of the Indian sub-continent move to Pakistan. The film stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui (Lunchbox) Rasika Dugal, Tahir Raj Bhasin and others The closing night film on Sunday, March 17 is Terry Gillum’s The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. The film is loosely based on Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes and stars Adam Driver, Jonathan Pryce, Stellan Skarsgård, Olga Kurylenko and others.
