Shivani Govil was VP, Artificial Intelligence & Cognitive Products at SAP Ariba when we recorded this conversation. She is now EVP of Emerging Tech and Ecosystem, Sage, an enterprise software company.

We sat down with Govil to find out about there work in artificial intelligence and big data and how she got interested in science and engineering and how various members of her family have inspired and mentored her career.

Govil grew up in a community surrounded by scientists. Her father and sister were a huge source of inspiration, who ignited her interest in science. Her father is a well-known scientist in India. Her older sister studied engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Mumbai, who encouraged Govil to pursue egineering at IIT, which she did. She got her Master’s at Princeton University.
