Northern California PBS station KRCB starts airing our 10-part series on Women in Arts, Science and Technology (STEAM) on Sundays at 4.30 pm PST. The series debuts with our conversation with Lois Vossen, executive producer of Independent Lens.

The series spotlights “hidden figures” from the San Francisco Bay Area who are engineers, teachers, film makers, astronomers and entrepreneurs. These women share their backstory of what drew them to pursue their interest in arts, science and math and who helped them nurture and sustain their interests. Some of them pursued science and switched to liberal arts, while others pursued a science track and went on to combine their creative side to forge a new career path.
