KRCB PBS STATION IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA AIRS OUR NEW SEASON OF WOMEN IN STEM SERIES

KRCB PBS station in Northern California starts airing our new season of Women in STEM from Silicon Valley. The 4-part series debuts on Sunday, April 4, 2020 on KRCB. Our first guest is Myra Nawabi, who came as a young refugee from Afghanistan to the US. We talk to her about her journey to America and how she pursued her dream and learnt to be resilient and build a community around her.

Right from a young age Nawabi was drawn to the night sky and her dream was to become an astronomer.  She became a high school math teacher and got a lucky break working for Lockheed Martin in Silicon Valley.

The series spotlights hidden figures like engineers, teachers, entrepreneurs and doctors in Silicon Valley. These women share their backstory of what drew them to pursue their interest in  science and math and who helped them nurture and sustain their interests.

Please check KRCB’s schedule for air dates and times on Sundays.
